In the Style of The Who ~ Curt Mitchell Page Four

Curt gives us an A note and tells us to go tune up to that and come back when we have. I have seen this before and since A is standard 440 its a good reference. Concert pitch. Own a chromatic tuner.

zoot suitsThe whole lesson is in standard tuning. Curt tell us some of the Who material is from 1965 and that he was born in '62. I Cant Explain is riff number one, Pictures of Lily is 2nd perhaps, I have no idea what 3 is. Zoot Suits in photo. Banksters should be forced to wear these.

Between riffs 3 and 4 Curt raps to us about how amps back then had no distortion. Every few riffs he chimes in and gives us various tips for our sound and playing which is what its all about.

The Les Paul guitar is set to mostly bridge pick up. About every 5 or 6 riffs you get another rare gem that makes it all worth it.

This lesson could have been longer but if you have this and the Who music to listen to you could learn quite a bit if you tried.

Mostly its about practice, attitude and confidence. Pete Townsend is a great creative musician/guitarist, no doubt about it!

His guitar playing seems simple really but then again he knew what he was doing having been an active London player from way back.

The Who didn't just spring onto the music scene they morphed into being the Who by hard work and talent.

I read Keith Moons Bio: Dear Boy! I recommend that too! I recommend this but only after your due consideration of my write up.
